Tamihi Meadows Combines RV Stays and Cabins Near Osborne Fishing Hole

Tamihi Meadows RV Park & Cabins, located near the Tamihi Recreational Area in Chilliwack, British Columbia, has been developing its offerings since 2015 to attract outdoor enthusiasts and provide unique lodging options along the Chilliwack River.

The privately owned property sits on more than 33 acres at the base of Mount Church, bordered by forest on three sides and riverfront on the fourth.

It opened to guests in 2016 with the goal of offering a retreat from urban life, and since then has expanded accommodations and upgraded facilities.

The park provides a mix of traditional RV sites and cabins, catering to both short-term visitors and seasonal guests.

Options include river-view and pull-through RV sites, as well as rustic fishermen’s cabins and newly built tiny cabins overlooking the river.

The business emphasizes a quiet environment, asking guests to respect noise restrictions across most of the property. Weddings and reunions are also hosted onsite, with a designated meadow allowing greater flexibility for events.

For recreation, the park’s location provides access to a variety of outdoor activities. The Osborne fishing hole, adjacent to the property, is a well-known destination for anglers.

The surrounding trails and logging roads are popular with hikers and ATV riders, while the nearby Chilliwack River attracts kayakers and rafters with its Class II to IV rapids. A section of the riverside beach is also used by swimmers during late summer and fall.

Accommodations range from off-grid tiny cabins, such as the “Chick Inn” and “Trailer Trash Tacky Shack,” to larger cabins with basic electricity and river views.

Cabins are intentionally rustic, with some designed for anglers and hunters seeking practical shelter rather than luxury.

As described by the owners, “This is a place to just unplug, connect with nature, and enjoy a simpler lifestyle. We want our place to be about respect for others, so are very strict about peace & quiet to ensure everyone has a good stay.”

For professionals in the outdoor hospitality industry, Tamihi Meadows illustrates how small operators can expand incrementally, repurposing natural features and low-impact structures to create varied lodging experiences.

Its example highlights the value of diversifying accommodations—such as combining rustic cabins with tiny homes—to serve different traveler segments while maintaining a consistent brand identity rooted in nature and quiet recreation.
