In anticipation of the upcoming camping season, Saskatchewan’s Provincial Parks in Canada will welcome online reservations starting at 7:00 a.m. on April 1 for seasonal campsites, according to a SaskToday report.
Following this initial period, reservations for nightly campsites, camp-easy options, group sites, and swimming lessons will open sequentially from April 2 to 9, with the schedule varying by location to accommodate demand throughout the province.
The season promises a variety of events and programming to enrich the camping experience. Visitors can look forward to Canada Day celebrations, summer cinema, performances by Sask Express, and activities such as back in the boreal at Meadow Lake, trade days at Fort Carlton, and the Cannington Fair.
Campers are advised to prepare by setting up or accessing their online accounts on SaskParks.com ahead of the reservation dates. This step aims to facilitate a smoother reservation process, enabling users to quickly select preferred campsites and plan their stays efficiently.
The online platform has introduced several enhancements this year, including better search capabilities for group camping, upgraded features for recreation hall reservations, and the option to book sites at Porcupine Hills Provincial Park.
The park has expanded its offerings, adding 28 new seasonal sites across various parks, including Buffalo Pound, Candle Lake, Echo Valley, Greenwater Lake, and Meadow Lake Provincial Parks. Additionally, Cypress Hills will see Camp Easy tents replaced with yurts, and a new pavilion will be available at Rowan’s Ravine, reflecting the evolving preferences of campers and the continuous efforts to enhance camping amenities.
Campers will need to refresh their web page at 7:00 a.m. to enter the queue for reservations. Additionally, the purchase of annual, weekly, or daily entry permits can be completed online, with prices ranging from CA$11 to CA$82 plus postage, or at the park upon arrival.
For the 2024 camping season, Saskatchewan’s Provincial Parks unveiled a detailed reservation schedule, initiating all parks in the seasonal camping program by opening reservations on April 1.
Following this, reservations for nightly stays, Camp-Easy sites, group camping, and swimming lessons will roll out in stages: Candle Lake, Good Spirit Lake, Meadow Lake, and Saskatchewan Landing on April 2; Douglas, Echo Valley, Makwa Lake, Narrow Hills, and Pike Lake on April 4; Danielson, Great Blue Heron, Greenwater Lake, Rowan’s Ravine, and The Battlefords on April 5; with Buffalo Pound, Bronson Forest, Duck Mountain, Moose Mountain, and Porcupine Hills following on April 8.
The schedule concludes on April 9, opening reservations for Blackstrap, Crooked Lake, Cypress Hills, and Lac La Ronge.
