Saskatchewan provincial parks will start operating several new businesses this summer, giving more fun activities to its visitors, according to a news release.
“Partnering with local businesses continues to be an important initiative for Sask Parks,” Parks, Culture and Sports Minister Laura Ross said. “It allows us to support local entrepreneurs while expanding our park offerings, which currently range from basic amenities to unique activities, experiences, and accommodation options. Our parks would simply not be the same without the many great businesses operating within them.”
The new activities that visitors can enjoy at Saskatchewan Parks this year include Guided Nature Walks with Jacquie Bolton at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. Pike Lake Provincial Park will also have a petting zoo, pony rides, and glitter tattoos offered by J&S Entertainment.
Candle Lake Provincial Park will also have specialty coffees, freshly roasted coffee beans, pizza, soft pretzels, mini donuts, bagel sandwiches, and other snacks from Grinded Love Coffee.
Echo Valley, Katepwa, Candle Lake, Saskatchewan Landing, Blackstrap, Cypress Hills, and Rowan’s Ravine Provincial Parks will also start offering youth swimming lessons on the lake with DC Online Swim School.
Meadow Lake Provincial Park will have Boreal Trail discovery packages offered by Flotten Lake Adventures Resort. Meanwhile, Battlefords Provincial Park will be equipped with camping experiences with Eagle Ridge Rentals.
Candle Lake and Meadow Lake Provincial Parks will have Sask Aquatic Adventures‘ new inflatable water park locations. Transportation and tour packages with Engelheim Tours to special events and attractions will be offered at Sask Parks.
At Elbow Harbour Recreation Site, Harbor Golf Club RV Park offers long-term seasonal camping.
Additionally, several businesses will return to parks again this summer. Some of the unique experiences and services available include lessons with Prairie Paragliding at Blackstrap Provincial Park, sailing experiences and courses with Living Sky Sailing at Elbow Harbour Recreation Site, and paddleboard rentals from Candle Paddle at Candle Lake Provincial Park.
Additional details and contact information for new park businesses will be shared on Sask Parks’ Facebook page next week at http://facebook.com/saskparks.
