Outdoorsy Group launched its digital insurance platform, Roamly, in Canada, marking a significant international expansion.
The move includes the acquisition of Canadian Access, the establishment of a new Toronto headquarters, and the appointment of Rich Sanders as president of Roamly. Additionally, Roamly has partnered with Aviva, reinforcing its commitment to innovation in the Canadian insurance sector.
“Our significant growth in Canada, combined with the acquisition of Canadian Access, makes this the right time to establish a headquarters in Toronto,” said Sanders. “This move allows us to better serve our customers and deepen our relationships with Canadian insurance partners.”
Roamly Enterprise offers a technology-driven platform that optimizes insurance underwriting, pricing, and policy management. The software leverages AI to process more than 200 terabytes of actuarial data daily, enabling insurance providers to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
“Our expansion into Canada marks a pivotal moment for the CAD$82 billion general insurance market, which is projected to reach CAD$143 billion by 2029,” Sanders said in a press release. “Roamly is transforming the traditional insurance model with technology that enables our partners to operate more effectively in a highly regulated and complex industry.”
The acquisition of Canadian Access strengthens Roamly’s position in the Canadian insurance market, allowing it to integrate its digital-first solutions into the local ecosystem. The company aims to provide a seamless experience for both enterprise partners and individual consumers.
“With the acquisition of Canadian Access, we can bring our technology to the Canadian insurance ecosystem, offering both our enterprise partners and everyday consumers a seamless, digital-first insurance experience,” Sanders added.
Adam Beach, president of Canadian Access, welcomed the partnership, highlighting its benefits for consumers and insurers. “We are excited to join the Roamly team and support their vision of modernizing insurance for Canadians. Roamly’s technology platform will allow us to better serve consumers and insurance companies, giving them access to faster and more efficient insurance solutions.”
Roamly plans to continue expanding its insurance offerings across Canada through strategic partnerships. The company aims to develop tailored products in Home, Auto, and Specialty Insurance while catering to mobility marketplaces, including carsharing and RV rentals.
