Parks of the St. Lawrence Campgrounds Reservations to Begin March 7 for 2024 Season

The Parks of the St. Lawrence (Ontario, Canada) has announced that reservations for the 2024 camping season will open on March 7, starting at 9 a.m., allowing guests to book their preferred campsites online for any time throughout the season.

This initiative covers all campgrounds under its purview, marking the commencement of preparations for outdoor enthusiasts looking forward to the season starting May 10, 2024.

Offering a diverse range of camping options, the Parks of the St. Lawrence caters to various camper preferences and needs.

The available campsites include basic, waterfront, premium waterfront, and sites equipped with electricity across 15, 30, and 50 amps. Additionally, two-service sites providing water and electricity, three-service sites that add sewer connections, and roofed accommodations such as camper cabins, mini cabins, a family lodge, and Robin’s Roost Treehouse are also available.

In a move to extend the camping season, the Parks of the St. Lawrence will introduce more spring and fall camping dates at selected campgrounds. Following the success of extended seasons in 2023, additional dates have been added at Ivy Lea, Mille Roches, and the cabins at McLaren, providing campers with more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

The 2024 season will also see the introduction of new and revitalized campsites across the parks. Fifteen new premium sites with water service are being added at Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary, and nine new premium waterfront sites at Brown’s Bay. Furthermore, approximately 80 waterfront campsites at Milles Roche have been enhanced through various improvements.

To make camping more affordable, the Parks of the St. Lawrence has increased the senior discount at all locations for basic and electric 15 amp sites from 10% to 20%. A new senior discount of 33% has also been introduced for select basic campsites at Glengarry campground. Moreover, basic campsite rates have been maintained or slightly decreased at 8 out of 10 campgrounds, reflecting the parks’ commitment to affordability.

Given the high demand for campsites, potential guests are encouraged to prepare for the March 7 reservation opening. The online reservation system, known for its efficiency, is capable of processing over 1,100 transactions in just five minutes, offering a stark contrast to the time it takes to process a single phone transaction.

To ensure a smooth reservation experience, the Parks of the St. Lawrence recommends planning in advance, including reviewing campground descriptions and preparing a list of preferred sites along with backups. It’s also crucial to be aware of park rules, such as minimum stay lengths and pet-friendly site designations, and to set up or update an online account before reservation day.

Parks of the St. Lawrence stands as one of Eastern Ontario’s largest tourism destinations, inviting guests to explore its scenic waterfront parkways, sandy beaches, picnic areas, bird sanctuary, and extensive trail networks. Spanning 7000 acres from the 1000 Islands to the Quebec border, these parks offer a haven for families, boaters, scuba divers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all types.

Whether interested in camping, cycling, running, photography, fishing, scuba diving, or simply exploring, the Parks of the St. Lawrence provides ample opportunities for visitors to connect with nature and enjoy the great outdoors. With the upcoming reservation opening, campers are looking forward to securing their spots for the 2024 season, promising another year of memorable outdoor adventures.
