Hidden Oasis near Elora, Ontario, recently recognized with a 2025 Canadian Hipcamp Newcomer Award, is drawing attention for its tranquil camping experience and community-centered approach to outdoor stays.
The property, described by its hosts as a “hidden oasis,” was one of only eight sites across more than 500,000 listed on Hipcamp to receive the award, underscoring growing consumer demand for intimate, nature-based camping options.
Starting September 15, the hosts announced reduced fall pricing across their sites, which include three individual listings accommodating tents, campervans, and smaller RVs.

Located just seven minutes from Elora and twenty minutes from St. Jacobs, the site provides access to the Grand River, nearby launch points, and several regional biking and hiking trails such as the G2G, Cottonwood Road, and Trans Canada Trail.
Each of the three sites offers a slightly different layout but emphasizes privacy and simplicity. Creekside RV and Tent Sites #1 and #2 sit beside a pond and creek, while Site #3—titled Picturesque RV and Tent—offers an open grassy area close to the pond but set farther apart for seclusion.
The property does not provide electrical or water hookups, and guests are expected to pack out their own trash, reflecting a low-impact camping ethos. Amenities such as picnic tables, fire pits, and portable toilets are provided, with firewood available for purchase.

The hosts, who live on-site with their family, noted that guests might occasionally see them walking their dogs, playing games, or tending to the grounds. They describe the property as a shared space, balancing guest privacy with a sense of community.
“We aim to give you a lot of privacy, so we aren’t going to be around all the time, don’t worry,” the owners said on Hipcamp. “But this is a shared space, that we want to enjoy alongside you, and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”
For outdoor hospitality professionals, the success of this small operation reflects an emerging trend among campers seeking quieter, low-amenity experiences that prioritize space, scenery, and personal connection.

Platforms like Hipcamp continue to highlight smaller, family-run properties that embrace environmental mindfulness while fostering direct engagement with guests.
The recognition of this Elora-area property as one of Canada’s top newcomer sites suggests that traveler interest in sustainable, small-scale camping destinations is poised to grow further into 2025.
