Fronterra Offers Seasonal Botanical Workshops and Off-Grid Camping Experiences

FRONTERRA, a regenerative flower and botanical farm in Prince Edward County, Ontario, is expanding its offerings to include off-grid ecological glamping and Scandinavian-inspired wellness experiences.

The family-run operation, located on a 58-acre property with a 160-year agricultural history, is positioning itself as both a tourism destination and an educational hub for sustainable practices.

The site features seasonal flower fields, botanical and food gardens, a hop yard, and access to beaches and old-growth forests.

Guests can choose between overnight stays in canvas tent suites equipped with private amenities or day-use forest lounges designed for quiet reflection.

According to the farm, its glamping accommodations are intended to “offer a simple and comfortable way to stay close to nature while giving tribute to our Canadian heritage.”

Programming at FRONTERRA includes workshops in regenerative agriculture, botanical harvesting, and flower arranging. Visitors may also participate in cut-your-own flower activities or attend group events focused on sustainable practices.

Beyond tourism, FRONTERRA emphasizes its role in environmental stewardship. The farm employs regenerative agriculture techniques aimed at soil, forest, and water conservation, with the broader goal of addressing climate change impacts.

This approach aligns with a growing trend within the outdoor hospitality sector, where operators are increasingly investing in sustainable infrastructure and agritourism experiences to diversify revenue streams and appeal to eco-conscious travelers.

For business owners in the outdoor hospitality and glamping industries, FRONTERRA’s model highlights the value of integrating wellness tourism and sustainability into core offerings.

Combining heritage-style accommodations with experiential learning and ecological initiatives, the farm provides an example of how operators can adapt to evolving guest expectations.

FRONTERRA was established following the founders’ decade-long overland journey from South Africa to Patagonia.

Today, the property combines influences from those travels with Scandinavian design principles and Canadian heritage, creating a hybrid offering that blends wellness, education, and hospitality.
