Secure Your Spot: Manitoba Parks’ Campground Reservations to Kick Off April 8

Manitoba Parks (Canada) announced the opening of campground reservations for the 2024 season, starting on April 8. The reservation process this year will adopt a staggered approach, spreading over five days to efficiently manage the demand.

On the launch day, all users logged onto the site at 7:00 a.m. will be placed in a random queue. This system aims to ensure a fair and equitable process for all individuals seeking reservations.

If a preferred site is unavailable, Manitoba Parks suggests using the site calendar to explore alternative dates or locations within the park. Other parks may also offer suitable camping options, thus expanding the choices available to campers.

On April 9, reservations will become available for Birds Hill, Winnipeg Beach, and Grand Beach campgrounds. Following this initial phase, the booking window will expand on April 10 at 7:00 a.m., when campgrounds within Whiteshell Provincial Park—including Betula Lake, Big Whiteshell Lake, Brereton Lake, Caddy Lake, Falcon Beach, Falcon Lakeshore, Nutimik Lake, Opapiskaw, Otter Falls, West Hawk Lake, and White Lake—open their reservations to the public.

The reservation process continues on April 11 at 7:00 a.m. for campgrounds located in the northern and western parts of the province. This includes Asessippi, Bakers Narrows, Clearwater Lake (Campers Cove and Pioneer Bay), Duck Mountain (Blue Lakes, Childs Lake, and Wellman Lake), Manipogo, Rainbow Beach, Rivers, Paint Lake, Spruce Woods (Kiche Manitou), Turtle Mountain (Adam Lake), Wekusko Falls, and William Lake.

On April 12 at 7:00 a.m., reservations will open for all remaining campground locations, including Birch Point, Camp Morton, Hecla (Gull Harbour), Hnausa Beach, Lundar Beach, Moose Lake, Nopiming (Beresford Lake, Bird Lake, Black Lake, Shoe Lake, and Tulabi Falls), St. Malo, Stephenfield, and Watchorn, ensuring a wide array of choices for all preferences and camping styles.

Booking policies and restrictions vary depending on the type of accommodation and the date of stay. For instance, long weekends require a two-night minimum stay, and cabins and yurts also need a two-night minimum when booked online. The initial reservation limit is two items per cart on April 8, with the possibility of increasing on subsequent days.

For in-person transactions, walk-in reservations and payment arrangements are available starting April 8 at 1181 Portage Ave., operating Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This option caters to individuals who may not have access to online booking or prefer face-to-face interactions when camping.
