The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) is set to mark its 50th anniversary in 2025, reflecting on five decades of advocacy, industry collaboration, and efforts to strengthen Canada’s RV sector.
Established in 1975, CRVA has played a key role in setting quality standards, promoting industry growth, and ensuring a unified voice for RV manufacturers and suppliers across the country.
Since its inception, CRVA has expanded its influence beyond manufacturing, engaging in government advocacy, consumer education, and strategic partnerships.
One of its notable achievements was co-founding Go RVing Canada in 1997 alongside the RV Dealers Association (RVDA) of Canada, a marketing initiative aimed at promoting RV travel.
Additionally, in 2013, CRVA helped establish the Canadian Camping and RV Association, a move that fostered stronger collaboration between manufacturers, dealers, and campground operators, reinforcing the connection between RVing and outdoor hospitality.
As part of its 50th-anniversary celebrations, CRVA has partnered with General Coach Canada, which has donated a brand-new 2025 25’ Citation Reward Travel Trailer, as per a news release.
The RV will be used to support Care Camps, a charity that funds specialized oncology camps for children with cancer.
The vehicle will feature a custom wrap and a QR code directing potential donors to a dedicated landing page for purchasing raffle tickets and facilitating corporate sponsorships.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of General Coach Canada and the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association,” said Gwynn Sullivan, executive director of Care Camps Foundation.
“This initiative will make it possible for more kids to find joy, connection, and adventure at camp, giving them a chance to just be kids while receiving the care they need.”
The commemorative RV will be unveiled at CRVA’s Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show from February 27 to March 2, 2025, before embarking on a nationwide tour, beginning with the Moncton RV Show in March.
This campaign not only highlights CRVA’s milestone but also underscores the industry’s role in supporting community initiatives.
Beyond the RV giveaway, CRVA has planned several initiatives throughout 2025 to honor its history and contributions to the industry.
These include the introduction of a special 50th-anniversary logo, digital retrospectives recognizing key industry figures, and advocacy campaigns to reinforce CRVA’s mission of promoting safety and industry growth.
“This milestone is a testament to everyone who has ever served on our Board, our dedicated members, and the industry stakeholders who have supported us along the way,” said Marty Bloemberg, CRVA’s chairman.
“We are truly grateful to General Coach Canada for their extraordinary generosity, and to everyone who has been part of CRVA’s journey. This year is about celebrating our past, embracing our future, and sharing the joy of RVing with Canadians coast to coast.”
For industry professionals, the anniversary serves as an opportunity to reflect on CRVA’s impact and explore ways to engage in its ongoing initiatives.
As CRVA looks to the future, its commitment to fostering growth, supporting innovation, and advocating for the industry remains at the forefront of its efforts.
