CRVA Launches Cross-Country Road Trip to Celebrate 50 Years and Support Care Camps of Canada

The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) has kicked off a cross-country tour to mark its 50th anniversary while raising funds for Care Camps of Canada, a charity dedicated to providing camp experiences for children with cancer.

Starting June 16, CRVA President Shane Devenish is traveling coast to coast in a specially wrapped 2025 Citation Reward Travel Trailer by General Coach.

The trip aims to celebrate the organization’s milestone, promote the RV lifestyle, and connect directly with Canadian RV enthusiasts.

The tour highlights the growing popularity of RVing across the country, with more than 2.1 million Canadian households owning an RV. This mobile way of travel continues to support local economies, generating more than $3.4 billion annually and sustaining over 14,000 jobs.

CRVA’s journey will include stops at various campgrounds and RV dealerships. The first scheduled event will be an open house at Transcona Trailer Sales in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on June 20.

Additional stops include Western Country RV in Airdrie at the end of June and Traveland RV in Langley in July.

The trailer will also appear at the Vancouver Craft Beer and Music Festival on July 12 alongside Go RVing Canada.

The tour will then head east for the Boots and Hearts Festival from August 7 to 10 before concluding at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto from August 26 to September 1.

At each location, visitors can tour the anniversary trailer, share their RV memories, and purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win the trailer, which is valued at more than CA$100,000. Proceeds will directly support Care Camps of Canada.

“When we started planning this journey a year ago, we knew we wanted to do something meaningful for our 50th year,” Devenish said in a press release. “We wanted to celebrate our roots, promote everything we love about the RV lifestyle, and find a way to give back to our community.”

Devenish encourages Canadians to engage with the tour, saying, “RVing is such a big part of Canadian life—from the family road trips to weekend getaways—and I am excited to experience this for myself, first hand.”
