Outdoor recreation has been an avenue for individuals and families to unwind and recharge ever since. As activities that have bound families together for generations, it’s only fitting to celebrate camping and RVing—and the Canadian Camping and RV Council (CCRVC) is brewing something to do just that.
As the ice starts to melt and as more Canadians prepare for another great camping season, the CCRVC is hosting the 7th Annual Canadian RVing and Camping Week on May 24 – 29, 2022.
The celebration marks the official kickoff of Canada’s summer camping season. Canadian park owners will put their twist in celebrating the return of their campers during the week, may it be through events, discounted overnight fees, or loads of activities.
Each year, the RVing and camping week supports a good cause. The proceeds gathered from last year’s celebration benefited Care Camps, a charity that helps children with cancer enjoy camping and spending time in nature.
Last year, CA$3,630.25 was raised to send children impacted by cancer to medically-supervised camps to build memories and friendships through the great outdoors.
This year’s benefactor will be decided at the committee’s hearing in a few weeks, CCRVC Member Services Coordinator Cara Csizmadia told Modern Campground.
The Canadian RV and camping industry chips in over CA$6.2 billion to the economy, employs 67,000 individuals, and generates over $3.4 Billion to Canadian tourism.
