British Columbia’s E.C. Manning Provincial Park has a new campground available to those who want to camp during the winter.
The Skyview Campground offers 62 sites during the winter months, and another 30 sites will be available during the summer.
According to a report, it is located close to the Lighting Lake day-use area, and each site has access to water as well as 50-amp power and sewer, which makes it the first fully-serviced campground for BC Parks.

Investing in parks improves the overall visitor experience and showcases the natural beauty of British Columbia in every season.
A Nordic ski trail cuts through Skyview, connecting to more than 60 km of groomed trails. Downhill skiers can be found close to the alpine region with 36 runs.
In summer, campers can take pleasure in canoeing and swimming at Lightning Lake and hike a number of trails that wind across alpine pastures.
“E.C. Manning Park is a year-round destination, and the new campground expands and enhances the visitor experience,” said Kelly Greene, Parliamentary Secretary for Environment.
Improvements were also made to Buckhorn Backcountry Campground, located on the Heather Trail. A new shelter for groups is being constructed, and 14 elevated tent platforms have been added together with bear-proof food caches and three footbridges.
E.C. Manning Park is one of the most visited parks in B.C., with more than one million tourists each year.

During the next three years, BC Parks is investing $21.5 million into new campsites, trails, and upgrades to existing facilities. Planning is underway for 22 proposed projects in 19 provincial parks. Many of the projects will also improve accessibility for people with disabilities, according to a release.
In addition, $2 million in new infrastructure-maintenance funding will be spent in all regions of the province on high-use trail and facility improvements.
