SilverStar Mountain Resort has expanded its camping accommodations with the opening of Upper BX Creek Campground, a new 36-site facility located about two kilometers from the resort’s main village near Vernon, British Columbia.
The new campground offers rustic, non-powered campsites nestled among the trees and situated near the Upper BX Creek Trail.
It adds to the resort’s existing camping options, which are located in parking lots adjacent to the village.
“At an elevation of 1,609m, with spectacular views of the Monashee Mountain Range, this is a must stop on your summer road trip through the Okanagan,” the campground indicates.
Designed to accommodate a range of outdoor enthusiasts, the campground includes various-sized sites suitable for tents, small trailers, and RVs.
It provides guests with a more secluded camping experience while maintaining proximity to resort amenities via a gravel walking path.
While there are no power hookups or potable water at the campground itself, drinking water and water for filling containers is available at the maintenance building in the back of the Village campground.
Guests seeking indoor facilities can access washrooms and showers in the Village. CA $15 Shower Access Card, which requires a refundable deposit, can be obtained from the Ticket Office or Campground Host during designated morning and afternoon rounds.
SilverStar officials note that there are no sani-dump stations on the mountain.
The closest facility is located at 6401 Tronson Road in Vernon, approximately a 30-minute drive from the resort.
Campsite reservations are required in advance and are priced at CA$32 per night. According to the resort, all proceeds from bookings will be reinvested into the campground improvements.
Bookings for the Upper BX Creek Campground are available exclusively online. Guests must pre-register before arrival at SilverStar’s Bonfire booking platform.
“When booking to stay in the Upper BX Creek Campground, please be sure you check site sizes to ensure your RV/Trailer will fit. The map, as well as site descriptions, indicate sizes,” the campground adds.
