The BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) has announced the appointment of Jamie Cox as its new executive director, marking a leadership transition for the provincial industry organization representing lodging and campground operators across British Columbia.
Cox, who has served on the BCLCA board of directors, will assume the role following a transition period with outgoing executive director Joss Penny, according to the association.
Cox brings extensive hands-on experience across British Columbia’s tourism, lodging, and outdoor hospitality sectors, along with a strategic and operational background developed through years of industry involvement.
During the transition period, Cox will work closely with Penny to ensure continuity across core initiatives, member services, and external partnerships currently overseen by the association.
The association said the transition is intended to support operational stability while maintaining momentum on existing programs and advocacy efforts.
BCLCA described the leadership change as part of its continued focus on supporting members operating within British Columbia’s lodging, campground, and outdoor hospitality sectors.
“BCLCA’s Board of Directors and staff join the BCLCA in warmly welcoming Jamie to his new leadership role. We look forward to working closely with him and supporting his efforts as he builds on the strong foundation already in place and continues to strengthen and advance the value and impact of the BCLCA for its members and the broader sector,” the association adds.
BCLA is a not-for-profit trade association and consumer marketing organization established in 1944.
The membership-driven organization represents the interests of British Columbia’s independently owned and operated small- and mid-sized lodging businesses, including campgrounds and RV parks. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors elected biannually from within the association’s membership.
The association supports its members through a range of initiatives, including consumer marketing and promotions primarily delivered through online and print channels, negotiated group purchasing discounts with industry suppliers, and collaboration with other industry associations on regulatory matters at all levels of government.
Additional efforts include encouraging service excellence in hospitality, commissioning primary market research, and promoting sound business practices through education and established industry standards.
