Early Bird Deadline Nears for First Western Ideas Forum Bringing Education

The Western Ideas Forum & AccomEx 2025, scheduled for November 3–6 at the St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino in Cranbrook, British Columbia, is set to bring campground and RV park operators from across Western Canada together for education, networking, and a trade show.

With the early bird registration deadline nearing on September 15, organizers are encouraging operators to secure their spots.

Organizers designed the forum to provide campground and RV park operators with opportunities for professional development and supplier engagement. The gathering marks the first edition of what is intended to become an annual event.

The program includes tours of local facilities, keynote presentations, breakout sessions, and interactive learning opportunities.

Attendees will visit KOA at St. Eugene, Fort Steele RV Park, and the Ktunaxa Interpretive Centre to gain firsthand insights into campground operations and regional cultural resources.

A central feature of the agenda is the focus on leadership and operational strategies. Keynote speaker Peter Pilarski of CIPR Communications is scheduled to present on practical applications of artificial intelligence in marketing and operations, highlighting tools that can help operators adapt to changing business environments.

Cracker barrel roundtables are also on the schedule, providing peer-to-peer exchange where operators can discuss common challenges and share best practices.

The AccomEx trade show will also run alongside the forum, featuring 25 indoor booths and outdoor exhibits. Suppliers are preparing to showcase a range of products, from glamping units and recreational amenities to software and insurance services tailored for the outdoor hospitality sector.

Sponsors have played a key role in supporting the event. CampLife and Canadian Sleeping Barrels are serving as platinum sponsors, while 76 North Street, Newbook, and Signature Risk Insurance Services are participating at the silver level. Bronze sponsors include WorkSafeBC and Modern Campground.

Attendance for the inaugural year is projected at 80 to 100 operators.

BCLCA Executive Director Joss Penny described the event as a “think tank” for campground and RV park operators in the region. “It’s important we get together and talk about the things that matter—staffing, rates, amenities, or even adding pickleball courts,” Penny said.
