The BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) has opened nominations for positions on its board of directors, with the deadline set for October 5, at 4 p.m.
The process, which is in line with the association’s constitution and bylaws, has already begun as the organization prepares for its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The BCLCA’s Board functions as a policy and governance body, guided by the association’s mission, vision, and core operating values.
The association is calling on active members who are committed to supporting the future success of the organization to step forward for nomination.
Members interested in standing for a two-year term can contact Executive Director Joss Penny at [email protected].
Once a request is made, the association will provide information on director responsibilities, committee work, expected meeting schedules, and a nomination application form.
According to the association, all applications will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee. Applicants will be notified if they have been added to the official slate of nominees by October 20.
Successful nominees will then be included in the election process at the AGM.
The BCLCA has also issued its first notice for the 2025 Annual General Meeting, which will be held in person at the St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino in Cranbrook on Tuesday, November 4, at 4 p.m.
The AGM is a key event for members, bringing together operators from across British Columbia to participate in the governance of the association.
During the meeting, members will vote on several motions, including approval of the minutes from the previous AGM, the accountant’s report for the prior fiscal year, and the upcoming year’s budget.
Members will also elect new board members for two-year terms and vote on a motion allowing the board to appoint auditors for the next fiscal year.
In addition to the AGM, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in the Western Ideas Forum, scheduled for November 3–6, also at the St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino. The conference is expected to draw a wide range of participants from across the lodging and campground sector.
