Chilliwack Valley Campground Highlights Growing Demand for Premium Nature Stays

A riverside campground in British Columbia’s Chilliwack River Valley is welcoming guests to its new luxury glamping accommodations while traditional tent camping remains closed until spring 2026.

Living Large on Chilliwack River, which offers both riverside access and forest surroundings, aims to provide a quiet retreat for guests looking to reconnect with nature.

The campground has introduced its new “Stargazer” glamping tents, designed to blend comfort with the outdoors. Each tent includes a queen-sized bed with linens, a BBQ grill with propane, a mini fridge, a Nespresso coffee maker, an electric kettle, and utensils. Guests can also enjoy a private deck for outdoor dining.

According to the hosts, “Glamping tents include everything… All you need to bring is your personal items, food, and drinks (and propane fire pit if you wish to have a campfire) – bring a good book to relax with!”

Dogs are not permitted in the glamping tents, which are available for two adults, though small children may be accommodated with prior arrangement.

The campground offers amenities such as heated outdoor showers, potable water, a dishwashing area, and both porta-potties and a flush toilet, which are serviced and sanitized regularly.

The hosts describe the area as being free from city noise and light pollution, providing opportunities for stargazing and relaxation by the river.

Guests can participate in activities like hiking, biking, swimming, wildlife watching, fishing, and river rafting.

The property also provides access to nearby attractions, including Cultus Lake, Harrison Lake, Bridal Falls, Fraser Canyon, Mount Cheam, and Lindemann Lake. The city of Chilliwack, located nearby, offers restaurants, craft breweries, and other local attractions.

For business owners in the outdoor hospitality industry, the campground’s expansion into glamping highlights an ongoing trend in consumer preferences toward elevated camping experiences that maintain close connections with nature.

The decision to keep tent camping closed while investing in upgraded, comfort-oriented accommodations may reflect a strategic response to growing demand for unique, low-impact travel experiences.

With glamping available through the end of September, the operators are focusing on offering private, small-scale stays that emphasize peace, nature, and comfort — an approach aligning with broader industry efforts to attract travelers seeking sustainability and wellness through outdoor experiences.
