Camp Moose Trail Blends Sustainability With Comfort in British Columbia’s Backcountry

Camp Moose Trail, located near Golden, British Columbia, has introduced an eco-focused glamping experience designed to combine outdoor adventure with sustainable comfort.

The site features ten trapper-style tents equipped with queen-sized log beds, wood stoves, and warm linens, with some units accommodating families or small groups.

The largest tent, known as the Kicking Horse, is designed for families and includes two queen-sized beds, while other units, such as the Selkirk, Purcell, and Columbia, offer single queen beds.

Most tents accommodate up to two adults, with the option of one child aged six or older. Several tents, including the Fay, Yoho, Bugaboo, Kain, Willowbank, and Thompson, are designated pet-friendly, with some requiring an additional fee.

Each tent includes a wood-burning stove, and guests share access to amenities such as a communal kitchen tent, cedar hot tub, sauna, stone pizza oven, and outdoor shower (seasonal).

Breakfast and hot drinks are included in all bookings. The site also offers a communal fire pit, climbing wall, and opportunities for group bookings, including family reunions, retreats, or corporate gatherings.

Camp Moose Trail markets itself as a “comfort that respects the earth” experience, providing guests with basic essentials while emphasizing eco-friendly design.

The operators encourage visitors to bring their own food and personal items while highlighting that most amenities are included in the stay.

For professionals in the outdoor hospitality industry, Camp Moose Trail reflects broader consumer demand for eco-conscious travel and curated outdoor experiences.

Its focus on sustainability—through features such as wood-burning saunas, limited infrastructure, and minimalistic design—demonstrates how operators can appeal to travelers seeking a balance between comfort and environmental responsibility.

Additionally, the mix of pet-friendly and non-pet-friendly options highlights a practical approach to serving diverse guest preferences, a consideration increasingly relevant in today’s competitive glamping sector.

Located a short drive from Golden, the property positions itself as a hub for adventure tourism in the surrounding mountain region.

By offering both individual tent rentals and full-site group bookings, Camp Moose Trail illustrates how small-scale operators can diversify revenue streams while meeting the needs of couples, families, and corporate groups alike.
