If a relaxed and family-friendly vacation is what you’re looking for, Porpoise Bay Provincial Park permits you to set up your camp, stroll towards the beach and stay there throughout the week. The long, sandy beach is perfect for taking naps in the afternoon, and the gentle slope of a significant section of the beach is ideal for playing on the shallows. Keep in mind that there are areas where the shoreline disappears quickly, and there aren’t lifeguards in the area.
Next to the beach is an adventure playground and grassy areas perfect for keeping kids entertained. After your time spent in the sun, salt, and sand is over, take advantage of the hot showers in either the day-use area or at the campground to clean up.
From the campground, numerous walking trails run through Angus Creek. After crossing the bridge, go towards the estuary mudflats, which are great for bird watching. Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park is a beautiful anchorage accessible by paddling around the peninsula from the launching point near Brooks Road. If you don’t own boats, the park is also accessible through an eight-kilometer hike from Brooks Road.
