The British Columbia Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) has issued several operational and marketing updates for members, outlining approaching deadlines for major travel guides, upcoming industry research, and administrative changes ahead of its 2026 season.
The association reminded operators that the deadline for paid listings in the Super Camping/Select Lodging BC Guide is February 20, 2026. The publication prints 80,000 copies annually and is supported by both an app and Flipbook edition.
Members interested in securing space in the guide were advised to contact Executive Director Joss Penny. The guide has served as a key marketing channel for campgrounds, RV parks, and lodging providers across the province.
The Fraserway RV Adventure Guide is also preparing for its next edition, with a listing deadline of March 27, 2026. According to the association, 10,000 copies are printed and distributed through the Fraserway rental fleet and sales network.
Operators were encouraged to reach out to reserve advertising placement. The guide provides additional visibility for businesses targeting both domestic and international RV travelers.
The association also noted that its ninth annual occupancy and rate survey will be launched in early January 2026. Invitations to participate will be sent directly by email to British Columbia campground and RV park operators.
The annual survey provides benchmarking data for the provincial outdoor hospitality sector, informing business planning, pricing strategies, and operational decision-making.
Members were also encouraged to update their Travel-British-Columbia listings, which are included as part of BCLCA membership.
The website attracts more than 300,000 visitors annually, and the association stated that listing data is also used to populate partner platforms, including the Go RVing Canada campground locator and Camping and RVing British Columbia.
In its association news update, BCLCA reminded operators of the Managing Extended Stays – Best Practices Guidelines for Campground Operators. Released in late 2024, the document remains available exclusively to members in good standing.
Administrative updates included confirmation that the BCLCA office will close for the holiday season beginning December 25, and will reopen on January 5, 2026.
The association also highlighted an upcoming leadership transition. Executive Director Joss Penny will retire on December 31, following his long tenure with the organization.
Despite the retirement, Penny has agreed to continue managing sales and production for both the Super Camping and Fraserway RV Adventure guides in 2026.
