The BC Lodging & Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) has opened applications for a new executive director, marking the start of a leadership transition for the organization.
The role, which offers a salary between CA$95,000 and CA$105,000 with flexible benefits, is positioned to guide the association’s advocacy, membership growth, events, and financial management.
The not-for-profit trade group represents independently owned lodging, campgrounds, and RV parks across British Columbia. Its leadership search is aimed at strengthening support for operators and ensuring the sector’s continued competitiveness.
Applications are being accepted until September 30, with candidates able to apply from anywhere in Canada. The association noted the position can be based in British Columbia or performed remotely nationwide.
The executive director will oversee strategic initiatives while managing staff and programs. According to BCLCA, the role is expected to “provide strategic leadership, strengthen advocacy, grow membership, oversee events and marketing programs, and manage finances and staff.”
In a recent update from BCLCA, invoices for 2025–26 membership dues were also sent in early September, with payments due on September 1. Members who pay via electronic funds transfer before September 30 qualify for a CA$5.25 discount.
Education is also a priority this fall, with registration underway for the Western Ideas Forum & AccomEx, scheduled for November 3–6 at the St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino in Cranbrook, British Columbia. Organizers expect between 80 and 100 operators from across Western Canada to attend.
The forum is designed to provide campground and RV park owners, resort operators, and outdoor hospitality professionals with networking and professional development opportunities. Early bird discounts remain available for those registering with a promo code.
AccomEx, the trade show component of the forum, will take place on November 4. The event has already secured commitments from 18 exhibitors and is nearing capacity. Attendees can view the current floor plan online to plan their participation.
The association continues to highlight supplier partnerships that provide cost savings for members. Superior Propane has extended discounted fuel rates to BCLCA members through May 31, 2026, with tiered pricing depending on volume.
For smaller users under 10,000 litres, the rate is set at 0.5929. For members purchasing more than 10,000 litres, the price drops to 0.5629. To enroll in the program, members are encouraged to contact the association office.
In addition to energy savings, members are also eligible for discounts on portable power products. Bluetti has extended a 5% discount on its portable power stations and solar panels for BCLCA members who purchase through its website with a designated code.
