BCLCA Launches 2025 Online Auction to Support Care Camps for Children with Cancer

The British Columbia Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) has opened its 2025 online auction to support Care Camps Foundation (Canada), a nonprofit that sends children affected by cancer to specialized oncology camps.

The auction began on May 15 and will remain open for bidding through June 22.

Care Camps provides opportunities for children undergoing cancer treatment to enjoy nature and recreation with others facing similar challenges.

More than 55 items have been donated by BCLCA members and industry partners, offering a wide range of options for bidders.

The goal for this year’s campaign is to raise over CA$7,000 in support of the foundation’s mission.

The auction is hosted online through the 32auctions platform, enabling participants to browse, bid, and share the event with their networks. Organizers encourage campground owners, RV industry professionals, and the general public to participate or donate.

The fundraising event is supported by BCLCA’s network of campground operators, suppliers, and outdoor hospitality businesses. Supporter logos and additional information can be found on the Travel British Columbia website.

According to its website, BCLCA is a not-for-profit trade and consumer marketing organization founded in 1944.

Dedicated to supporting the province’s independently owned and operated small and mid-size lodging and campground/RV park businesses, BCLCA is a membership-driven association that advocates for the needs of its members.

Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected bi-annually from within the membership, the association works collaboratively under its guiding principle, “Working Together For Your Success.”

BCLCA provides a wide range of support services to its members, including consumer marketing through both online and print channels, group purchasing discounts with industry suppliers, and collaboration with other associations to address regulatory challenges at all government levels.

The association also emphasizes service excellence, commissions market research, and promotes strong business practices through educational resources and industry standards.
