BCLCA Announces Membership Updates and Upcoming Industry Initiatives

The British Columbia Lodging & Camping Association (BCLCA) has released its latest updates, outlining key membership reminders, leadership changes, and upcoming initiatives for operators across the province.

The association confirmed that membership renewal invoices for the 2025/26 cycle were emailed in July and were due October 31. Operators who have not yet submitted payment are encouraged to send an EFT to [email protected], with BCLCA expressing appreciation to those who have already completed their renewals.

Members requiring another copy of their invoice may request it directly from the association by emailing [email protected].

BCLCA also announced the election of its new executive team. Jeff Kirkman will serve as president, with Augie Braun appointed vice president of camping and Sandra van Steijn taking on the roles of vice president of lodging and treasurer.

With the transition, Jamie Cox now moves into the past president position. The association recognized Cox for his five years of service as president, noting its appreciation for his leadership contributions.

The update also included a farewell to outgoing director Kimo Linders, who completed two terms on the board.

Members also approved the BCLCA Policy Paper during the annual general meeting held November 4 in Cranbrook. The board will now review the recommendations to develop a strategy for advancing selected priorities. The full policy paper is available to members through the partner extranet.

In the education category, BCLCA noted that operators who missed the Western Idea Forum & AccomEx, held November 3–6 at St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino in Cranbrook, will have access to the event’s speaker presentations at a later date.

Looking ahead, operators are advised to watch their inboxes in early January 2026 for an invitation to participate in the 10th annual occupancy and rate survey. The survey helps track performance trends and supports industry benchmarking.

BCLCA also reminded members to review and update their Travel-British-Columbia listing, a membership benefit that appears on a website with more than 300,000 annual visitors.

In addition, the association announced that the deadline for the 2026 Super Camping/Select Lodging BC Guide is February 20, 2026.
