Lindbrook Star Gazer Campground & RV Park in Tofield, Alberta, has announced that it will remain closed for the 2025 season, with plans to reopen in 2026.
The privately operated campground, located 30 minutes east of Edmonton, typically offers powered sites, a heated pool, playground, showers, and on-site security.
In a message to guests, the operators Bernie and Krystina said, “See you in 2026.” They encouraged visitors to follow the campground’s Facebook page for updates on booking availability, cancellations, and public swim schedules.
The campground generally operates as a semi-full-service boutique property, with guests filling water at the pool house upon entry and access to picnic tables, fire pits, and sani dump facilities during their stay.

Group sites have been a feature for larger gatherings, with Group A offering six sites and Group B offering four, subject to a 30-day cancellation policy.
Prior to this season’s closure, Lindbrook had introduced several changes to its operations. Rental trailers were added on select sites, with a $10 nightly rate increase and an additional charge for relocating trailers to group areas.
Washroom operations were adjusted in response to cleanliness concerns, with daily closures for maintenance and a requirement for guests to remove shoes before entry.
To address past safety issues, additional cameras were installed in common areas to monitor for property damage and trespassing, with repair costs charged back to responsible guests.

The campground also restricted access to a grassy area at the back of the property due to liability concerns.
Rates for 2025 had been set between $45 and $50 per night for powered sites, with discounts for weekly stays and off-season use.
Ancillary services such as firewood, water fill-ups, and sani dump access were available for a fee. The park also maintained policies requiring minimum stays on weekends and long weekends, as well as online-only reservations.
For outdoor hospitality professionals, the Lindbrook announcement underscores the challenges small, privately owned campgrounds face when balancing guest experience, safety, and operational sustainability.

Seasonal closures can also influence local tourism flows, highlighting the importance for operators to communicate clearly with guests, maintain digital booking systems, and adapt amenities in response to guest feedback.
Lindbrook’s closure for the 2025 season reflects a broader trend where campgrounds are reassessing operations and investments, while continuing to prioritize long-term guest relationships.
