There might still be snow around, but people are gearing up and making summer camping reservations at the Gas City Campground in Medicine Hat (Alberta, Canada).
As per a report, a few changes are planned for this year’s camping season featuring two comfort cabins accessible for guests to rent.
The city utilized stimulus funds provided by the provincial government to build the cabins and expand the number of serviced sites by 24 at Gas City.
City of Medicine Hat Community Connections with Parks and Recreation Manager Michele Josey says that a change in the way people camp is the reason for creating the cabins.
We’ve seen some of the newer sites at Elkwater, and this way of camping has probably changed for some people,” Josey explained.
As a result, she said that they want to ensure that campgrounds are not only accessible, which the comfort cabins are to all of the campers, and how they have noticed the trend and the change in the way people are camping.
Ten camping spots are available for reservation within the Echo Dale regional park.
They are not serviced and are best designed for tenting or those with smaller RVs.
Gas City campground will be at the Spring Home and Leisure trade show, starting on April 22, a few days before the opening day for camping on April 29.
