Camp Margaritaville RV Resort & Cabana Cabins has been named Best Park in the large park category by the Florida RV Park and Campground Association, which represents more than 500 privately owned campgrounds, RV parks, and resorts across the state.
The award was presented on May 8 during the Florida and Alabama Outdoor Hospitality Convention & Expo at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando. The recognition honors Camp Margaritaville with over 301 campsites.
“Our intent with these awards is to recognize the best parks in each category, as determined by our independent panel of judges,” Bobby Cornwell, executive director and CEO of the Florida RV Park and Campground Association, said in a press release.
Judges considered multiple criteria, including guest satisfaction, online ratings and reviews, facility quality, and overall park maintenance.
Award recipients were also evaluated on their ability to innovate, implement new technologies, and complete recent improvements that elevate the guest experience.
Camp Margaritaville features 326 RV sites and 75 fully furnished cabana cabins. The property’s amenities include a heated, zero-entry pool, a 147-foot water slide, a splash pad for children, and the “License to Chill Pool” with a bar and dock overlooking Lake Myrtle.
Guests can also enjoy a 9-hole mini golf course, a Pirate Ship Treasure Mining experience, gaga ball, sand volleyball, cornhole, and multiple playgrounds.
A robust calendar of family-friendly programming includes live music, foam parties, poolside games, crafts, and a scheduled line dancing event on May 31.
According to the association, award-winning parks must show consistent guest satisfaction and rising occupancy, while also maintaining high operational standards and customer service benchmarks.
The Florida RV Park and Campground Association promotes the state’s private outdoor hospitality sector through its consumer website, CampFlorida.com, and distributes a free printed camping guide to help travelers discover campgrounds and RV resorts across Florida.
