The BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) will hold the final installment of its 2025 Spring Webinar Series on May 29, offering a free virtual session aimed at helping campground operators support mental health in the workplace.
Scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. PDT, the webinar will be led by Ginger Brunner, manager of industry human resources & mental health at go2HR.
The session is designed to provide practical tools for recognizing and addressing mental health concerns among campground staff.
The topic, “Introduction to Workplace Mental Health and the Mental Health Continuum,” will introduce participants to a framework for identifying early signs of mental health challenges and engaging in meaningful conversations with employees.
“As business and guest demands continue to grow and become more complex, tourism employers are increasingly recognizing that protecting employees’ mental health and safety is just as important as safeguarding their physical safety,” according to the event description.
Participants will also learn how to use the Mental Health Continuum tool, a resource developed to help identify when someone may be struggling and determine appropriate levels of support.
The webinar will also provide practical strategies and resources that campground operators can use to begin mental health conversations and assist employees in need.
“What employers may not recognize is that an individual’s mental health exists within a continuum (range) that fluctuates, and that there are signs they can watch for and actions they can take to help support employees when they are struggling,” the event indicates.
