The BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) has opened bidding for its 2025 online auction in support of the Care Camps Foundation (Canada), a nonprofit that helps send children affected by cancer to specialized oncology camps.
The auction launched May 15 and will run through June 22.
More than 50 items have been donated by BCLCA members and industry partners. Proceeds from the auction will help children undergoing cancer treatment attend camp experiences where, as the foundation describes, they can “forget about chemo, the radiation, and hard stuff that comes with cancer … and just be a child again.”
The annual fundraiser has become a tradition for BCLCA, which represents campgrounds, RV parks, and lodging operators across British Columbia.
Organizers aim to raise over CA$5,000 through this year’s auction, with all proceeds going directly to Care Camps Foundation (Canada).
According to its website, BCLCA is a not-for-profit trade association and consumer marketing organization that has represented the province’s independently owned small and mid-size lodging and campground businesses since 1944.
With a mission of “Working Together For Your Success,” the association operates as a membership-driven body that advocates for the interests of RV parks, campgrounds, and lodging providers across British Columbia.
Governed by a volunteer board of directors elected bi-annually from within its membership, BCLCA provides a collaborative platform for industry operators.
To support its members, BCLCA offers a range of services aimed at boosting business performance and visibility.
These include coordinated consumer marketing efforts through both digital and print channels, access to group purchasing discounts from industry suppliers, and ongoing educational initiatives to promote hospitality excellence.
In addition, the association commissions market research and shares industry standards that help members navigate challenges and strengthen their operations.
