Bayside Glamping Launches The Sanctuary on Yorke Peninsula

A new eco-retreat has opened in Marion Bay on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula, offering travelers a sustainability-focused accommodation option with proximity to natural attractions.

Bayside Glamping has launched “The Sanctuary,” a retreat designed to provide a comfortable and environmentally conscious experience for guests seeking a coastal escape.

According to Bayside Glamping founder Tiffany Falzon, the project was a collaborative effort involving multiple family members.

“Built with love by my dad, George, and partner Luke, with impeccable selections and styling by Penny Crompton, The Sanctuary is a luxurious escape like nothing we’ve done before,” Falzon said in a report by Glam Adelaide

“It truly brings together our family’s skills—Dad’s craftsmanship and zero-waste approach, Luke’s landscaping talents, and my vision for creating the perfect couples’ retreat.”

Positioned near the beach and surrounded by some of the region’s most notable natural sites, including Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park, The Sanctuary is intended for couples but can also be booked in conjunction with Bayside Glamping’s existing accommodations—the Glamping Tent and Tiny House—for group stays.

The Sanctuary’s amenities reflect an emphasis on both sustainability and comfort. It features a king-size four-poster bed, a reading nook with views ideal for stargazing, and an open-air bathroom with sliding glass doors to allow for natural ventilation.

The kitchen and living spaces include locally sourced refreshments such as wine, beer, coffee, and tea.

“Lush lawns are a rare sight in Marion Bay, so we wanted to create the perfect space for picnics, Finska, and ring toss,” Falzon added. “To maintain a green space year-round despite the dry conditions, we chose TifTuf – a drought-tolerant grass, known for its ability to stay vibrant throughout the year.”

Additional features include three outdoor decks, a fire pit, and complimentary bikes with helmets, giving guests opportunities to explore the surrounding area at their leisure.

For business owners in the outdoor hospitality industry, The Sanctuary presents an example of how small-scale, family-led operations can leverage regional appeal and sustainable practices to differentiate their offerings.

By combining custom craftsmanship with thoughtful amenities and a low-impact footprint, operators can cater to guests who prioritize both luxury and environmental responsibility.

Bayside Glamping’s approach may serve as a model for other operators seeking to enhance their property’s appeal through curated guest experiences and local integration.
