Willow Wood Glamping, a new eco-tent retreat located in the Margaret River region, officially opened in June 2023.
Situated on a 100-acre farm in Ambergate, the property offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet is conveniently located just 15 minutes from Busselton Jetty and Airport and 35 minutes from Margaret River town center.
The retreat features 10 luxury eco-tents designed for maximum privacy, allowing guests to enjoy both tranquility and stunning views.
The property’s owners, Kevin and Amber Kelly, bring years of experience in tourism, having previously operated Rainbow Jungle Tourist Park in Kalbarri.

They transitioned to Willow Wood after Cyclone Seroja accelerated their plans to venture into the Southwest. Their vision was to create a peaceful retreat that would attract both tourists and nature enthusiasts.
“We’ve spent a lot of time revegetating the land to enhance the bushland and create a haven for native birdlife,” said Kevin Kelly.
“Our eco-tents have been designed to make guests feel at home while being immersed in nature.”
Interior design was handled by local talent Jacqui Withers, who styled the tents using vintage and Italian linen, natural fiber rugs, and comfortable lounges and armchairs.
The overall aesthetic blends luxury and sustainability, which is a growing trend in the glamping industry.

Notably, Willow Wood’s eco-tents feature electric fires and high-end amenities, making it an attractive option for those seeking a balance between nature and comfort.
Another key highlight of the retreat is its spa service. Willow Wood is the first in Western Australia to be approved for the use of Larn’wa Australian botanical spa products, which are developed in consultation with Aboriginal Elders and communities.
This unique offering allows guests to enjoy a relaxing massage in a dedicated treatment tent, enhancing the overall wellness experience.

In addition to its spa offerings, Willow Wood also provides guests with a complimentary breakfast board featuring local produce.
Its secluded location in Ambergate allows visitors to reconnect with nature, as the area is home to an abundance of birdlife. For business owners in the glamping industry, Willow Wood’s integration of local products and talent into their operations can serve as a model for creating immersive, community-focused experiences that align with sustainability and high-end tourism trends.
