Temporary Road Closures Announced for 2024 Let’s Go Queensland Caravan and Camping Supershow

Temporary road closures and changed parking conditions have been announced for the 2024 Let’s Go Queensland Caravan and Camping Supershow, scheduled from Thursday, May 30 to Tuesday, June 11, 2024. These measures are aimed at ensuring the safe and smooth operation of the event.

From 12:01 AM on Thursday, May 30 to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 11, Gregory Terrace will be fully closed between Exhibition Street and Costin Street. King Street will also be closed between Gregory Terrace and Carriage Street. Alexandria Street will be closed between Gregory Terrace and Machinery Street, and Machinery Street will be closed between King Street and Alexandria Street.

In addition to these full road closures, parking lane closures will be in effect from 12:01 AM on Thursday, May 30 to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 11. Gregory Terrace will see parking lane closures between Bowen Bridge Road and Costin Street, between Costin Street and Anderson Street, and between Brookes Street and Exhibition Street. O’Connell Terrace will have parking lane closures between Wren Street and Sneyd Street, and there will be closures on Costin Street at the corner of Gregory Terrace.

Further parking lane closures are scheduled from 12:01 AM on Wednesday, June 5 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 9. These will affect Costin Street between Gregory Terrace and Carriage Street.

Traffic conditions will also change on certain roads from 12:01 AM on Thursday, May 30 to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 11, although local access will be maintained. There will be no left-hand turn into Exhibition Street from St Pauls Terrace, and Anderson Street will not allow right turns into Gregory Terrace. The traffic lights at the intersection of King Street and Gregory Terrace will be turned off. Additionally, Brookes Street will have a right turning lane closure into Gregory Terrace, but local access towards Exhibition Street will remain.

The Let’s Go Queensland Caravan and Camping Supershow will feature the latest models of caravans, motorhomes, campervans, camper/tent trailers, and slide-ons. Queensland tourism information will also be on display during the five-day event, which will host over 200 exhibitors.

The event is organized by the Caravan Parks Association of Queensland Ltd, which represents caravan park owners and operators in the state. Founded in the early 1960s, the association advocates for the interests of its members, providing a unified voice in industry matters.

The Caravan Trade & Industries Association of Queensland, founded in 1964, also plays a key role in the event. This organization represents the caravan, manufactured home, and camping industries. Its membership includes retailers, manufacturers, hirers, repairers, and suppliers. The association is involved in government liaison, promotion, and public relations, keeping its members informed through regular newsletters and bulletins on industry matters.
