Tasmanian Eco-Retreat Numie Listed for AUD $2.5M with 80% Projected Occupancy

A luxury eco-retreat on Tasmania’s east coast has entered the market with a guide price of AUD $2.5 million, offering a blend of minimalist architecture and off-grid hospitality.

Located on the Freycinet Peninsula and occupying 93 acres of bushland, the glamping retreat—known as Numie—presents a boutique accommodation experience that combines Japanese and Scandinavian design principles, commonly referred to as “Japandi.”

Numie overlooks Pelican Bay and the Hazards mountain range, emphasizing simplicity and natural integration.

The main cottage features rough plaster walls, exposed timber beams, and concrete flooring, with an interior design that foregrounds texture and restraint. A large wooden deck extends toward the water, while amenities include a hot tub, sauna, fire pit, pizza oven, and outdoor shower.

Listing agents Alyce Fleming and Cam Rogers of Wolf Property note the property has a projected 80% occupancy rate, underscoring its appeal within Tasmania’s growing eco-tourism market.

The retreat includes three distinct accommodation offerings. The Numie Cocoon, designed to resemble an upturned boat, includes a glazed front that opens to a private deck and bushland views.

According to a report by The Spaces, it also features a soaking tub and interiors clad in quilted insulation with timber finishes.

Additionally, a series of yurts nestled among banksia and wattle trees are equipped with plush bedding, private bathroom tents, dining areas, wood burners, and fire pits, providing a comprehensive glamping experience.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the entire site operates off-grid, an increasingly attractive feature for environmentally-conscious travelers.

The listing arrives at a time when demand for unique, high-end eco-stays is rising, particularly in natural destinations like Tasmania.

For operators in the outdoor hospitality sector, Numie illustrates the viability of pairing modern design with off-grid infrastructure to create a premium guest experience.

The retreat’s architecture and amenities also serve as a model for how glamping businesses can differentiate through design and integrated wellness features.

Its strong projected occupancy could signal solid return potential for investors or operators looking to expand into boutique nature-based accommodations.
