Reflections Holiday Parks has officially launched Wilderluxe Lake Keepit, a new glamping destination in northwestern New South Wales, combining high-end amenities with cultural storytelling and outdoor immersion.
Located between Tamworth and Gunnedah, the site is positioned on Kamilaroi Country and marks a continuation of Reflections’ strategy to reimagine nature-based accommodation with a luxury focus.
Wilderluxe Lake Keepit consists of eight Australian-made safari tents equipped with features such as timber floors, retractable skylights, climate control, and private decks with outdoor bathtubs, according to Escape.
Each unit includes a kitchenette, a compact bathroom with a rain shower, and amenities like a Weber Q barbecue, ambient lighting, and a turntable with a curated vinyl selection.
The tents offer views of Lake Keepit, a body of water that spans two-thirds the size of Sydney Harbour, enhancing the site’s appeal for those seeking an off-grid yet comfortable escape.
The glamping experience is not limited to accommodation. Wilderluxe incorporates elements of cultural education and environmental appreciation.
A central feature is the “Big Sky Dreaming” experience, a storytelling film narrated by Kamilaroi Elder Uncle Len Waters, which explores the intersection of Indigenous and Western astronomy.
Design elements across the property, including path layouts and firepit materials, were created in collaboration with the Kamilaroi community to reflect local traditions and history. Tent names, such as “Dhirri Dhirri,” pay homage to Kamilaroi totems and messengers.
Guests can engage in additional experiences like guided storytelling, stargazing, electric bike rides, and glider flights through the nearby Lake Keepit Soaring Club.
Regional culinary offerings include local BBQ meal kits, curated breakfast hampers, and access to Tamworth and Gunnedah’s cafés and restaurants. The Gilay Lounge provides complimentary beverages throughout the day.
For the outdoor hospitality sector, Wilderluxe Lake Keepit presents a model for how glamping sites can integrate environmental context and cultural storytelling into premium accommodations.
Its collaboration with Indigenous leaders offers a potential roadmap for other operators seeking to create experiences that are both distinctive and respectful of local heritage.
Stays at Wilderluxe Lake Keepit start at AUD $1100 for a minimum two-night stay for two people. Reservations include breakfast and access to on-site amenities. The destination is accessible via a 5.5-hour drive from Sydney or a 40-minute drive from Tamworth.
