NRMA Parks and Resorts has announced its 2025 Camp Out fundraiser in partnership with children’s cancer charity Camp Quality, marking the fourth year of the collaboration.
Scheduled for Saturday, October 25, the event will see all 45 NRMA holiday parks and resorts across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania participate.
As part of the initiative, 50 percent of fees from unpowered, powered, and ensuite caravan and campsite stays on October 25 will be donated to Camp Quality’s Family Getaway program.
The program provides short breaks for families impacted by cancer, offering time to reconnect during treatment, recovery, or bereavement.
Last year’s Camp Out raised more than $180,000 for Camp Quality, and since the partnership began in 2021, NRMA Parks and Resorts has contributed $270,000 through a combination of fundraising and guest donations.
The organization has set its sights on surpassing this figure in 2025.
In addition to camping, guests at participating holiday parks will be able to join community activities on October 25, including barbecues, games, and evening entertainment. Each location will host its own fundraising efforts, with a friendly competition to see which park can raise the most support.
NRMA Parks and Resorts CEO Paul Davies said the partnership aligns with the member-owned organization’s mission to create memorable holidays for families.
“At NRMA we’re excited to partner with the team at Camp Quality for the fourth year in a row to give these kids and their families the chance to get away and have a holiday,” Mr Davies said.
“We’ve made this year’s Camp Out event the biggest ever, so as guests can have a holiday at any one of NRMA’s 45 holiday parks across Australia over the weekend of October 25 and make a real difference.”
Camp Quality CEO Deborah Thomas highlighted the importance of the initiative for families facing childhood cancer. “When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the whole family is thrown into turmoil,” Ms Thomas said.
“Hospital treatment can be long and separates families for extended periods of time. Camp Quality’s Family Getaways offer time to reconnect during some of the toughest times along the cancer journey, whether that’s during treatment, on return from hospital, or in the heartbreaking case of palliative care or bereavement.”
”Thanks to the generosity of NRMA, we have been able to expand our Family Getaway program to give more families this vital break and an opportunity to create happy memories.”
For outdoor hospitality operators, the event underscores how charitable initiatives can be integrated into business models to engage communities, strengthen brand reputation, and attract guests.
By linking stays directly to charitable contributions, NRMA is creating a shared-value approach that supports both occupancy and community impact.
Bookings for the 2025 Camp Out can be made through NRMA’s dedicated webpage, and those unable to attend can support the fundraiser by donating directly to Camp Quality.
