NRMA Camp Out 2025 Raises Record $223,000 for Children Facing Cancer

NRMA Parks and Resorts announced record-breaking results from its fourth annual Camp Out campaign, held in partnership with children’s cancer charity Camp Quality, raising more than AU$223,300 for children with cancer and their families. The 2025 total marks an increase of more than AU$43,000 from last year’s effort.

The fundraising event took place on October 26 across NRMA’s network of 50 holiday parks along Australia’s eastern states, where guests were invited to spend the night camping for a cause.

Half of the proceeds from all unpowered, powered, and ensuite caravan and campsite bookings that evening were donated to Camp Quality’s Family Getaway program. The initiative provides families affected by cancer with opportunities to reconnect and recharge through supported holiday experiences.

NRMA Myall Shores Holiday Park claimed the top fundraising position this year, surpassing last year’s leading site, NRMA Darlington Beach Holiday Park, which finished second. NRMA Blue Dolphin Yamba Holiday Park rounded out the top three.

To celebrate the event, parks hosted live entertainment, community barbecues, charity auctions, and family-friendly activities such as face painting, scavenger hunts, and competitions. Camp Quality’s beloved puppets also made appearances, adding to the atmosphere of fun and solidarity.

The event has grown steadily since its inception, with this year’s record confirming its place as a highlight in NRMA’s calendar of community initiatives.

According to a press release, NRMA Parks and Resorts CEO Paul Davies said the results underscored the importance of the campaign and the strong support it continues to receive from guests and members.

“At NRMA we’re so pleased to see the Camp Out campaign gaining momentum with our members and guests, with participation and funds raised increasing steadily year on year,” Davies said.

“These funds will be a real boon for families of kids with cancer, giving them the chance to get away and have a well-deserved holiday at our parks and resorts,” he said.

Davies expressed appreciation for the guests and donors who contributed to this year’s success, noting that the funds will directly improve the quality of life for children facing illness.

“We’d like to thank everyone who camped out or made a donation to this year’s Camp Out campaign, which will really make a difference to the lives of kids with cancer and their families,” Davies said.

Camp Quality CEO Deborah Thomas also emphasized the impact of NRMA’s continued partnership in expanding support for affected families.

“When a child is diagnosed with cancer the whole family is thrown into turmoil,” Thomas said.

“Thanks to the generosity of NRMA Parks and Resorts, we have been able to expand our Family Getaways program to give more people this vital break from the trauma of cancer and the opportunity to reconnect as a family and create happy memories together,” she said.
