Tasman Holiday Parks in Papamoa Beach Named 2025 Holiday Park of the Year

Tasman Holiday Parks’ Papamoa Beach property in New Zealand has received the 2025 Holiday Park of the Year award in the Large Park category, the company confirmed this week.

The announcement was made on July 30 by Tasman CEO Nikki Milne via LinkedIn, where she praised the Papamoa team’s guest-first approach and commitment to delivering meaningful, memorable holiday experiences.

“This recognition is a testament to the extraordinary team at Papamoa Beach,” Milne wrote. “Their work embodies everything Tasman Holiday Parks stands for: creating places where people can truly connect, relax, and make lifelong memories.”

She also acknowledged several other Tasman-operated holiday parks in New Zealand that were named finalists across multiple categories, highlighting the group’s innovation and service excellence nationwide.

Park Experience & Investment Strategy

Papamoa Beach is part of Tasman Holiday Parks’ growing portfolio of more than 40 properties across Australia and New Zealand.

According to company reports, Tasman concluded a $265 million expansion campaign two years ago that doubled its portfolio size, positioning the company as one of the fastest-growing holiday park operators in the region.

At Papamoa Beach specifically, the group has invested approximately NZ$8 million in upgrades.

Enhancements include six beachfront two-bedroom villas, eight new poolside units, a redesigned heated swimming pool, and a dedicated spa precinct.

Cultural collaboration with local iwi, Ngā Potiki, has also been integrated through bilingual signage and community engagement initiatives.

The beachfront park offers a variety of accommodation options such as villas, cabins, powered and unpowered sites, along with amenities such as EV fast-charging stations, outdoor movie screens, trampolines, BBQ and pizza ovens, and free Wi‑Fi.

Guests can also enjoy direct beach access, dolphin encounters, land-yacht experiences, and access to nearby biking and hiking trails.

Why the Award Matters

The Holiday Parks New Zealand Awards recognize excellence in guest service, sustainability, innovation, and overall park management.

While exact scoring details were not disclosed, Papamoa’s focus on experience design, cultural inclusivity, and continual reinvestment likely contributed to its top placement.

Milne underscored the broader leadership vision behind Tasman’s momentum, writing: “These moments remind me of the impact we can have when we lead with purpose and passion.”

Relevance for Industry Operators

For campground and RV park operators, Tasman’s recognition at Papamoa Beach underscores the importance of sustained investment in guest experiences, diversified amenities, and community partnerships.

The park’s collaboration with Ngā Potiki also provides a model for inclusive and culturally respectful regional development.

Tasman’s operational scale, serving more than 500,000 guests annually (according to prior disclosures), offers a case study in building occupancy, driving forward bookings, and optimizing regional tourism demand.
