McKinlay Shire Council (Australia) celebrates as Julia Creek Caravan Park took home the silver award at the recently-concluded Australian tourism awards.
According to a report, the park competed with Australia‘s top tourism ventures at the national tourism awards‘ caravan and holiday parks category.
The council-owned park is rising, having bagged gold on the state level in the 2021 Queensland Tourism Awards.
The park said they were humbled and proud to see that their dedication, hard work, and innovation were acknowledged in the national spotlight.
To all of our guests, staff, managers, contractors, and volunteers that have made the Julia Creek Caravan Park a standout, we thank you sincerely,” the Park posted on its Facebook page.
The innovative caravan park won the state award in the caravan and holiday parks category, a well-deserved achievement for the park that has gained a reputation for its artesian baths and boundary rider style huts.
Queensland Tourism Industry Council Chief Executive and Chair of the Australian Tourism Awards Daniel Gschwind stated that the awards provided an opportunity to showcase world-class experiences and destinations across Australia.
“The awards are testament to the commitment and determination of our nation’s top tourism businesses, who, despite the difficulties of the past two years, consistently provide visitors with exceptional experiences,” Gschwind said.
“While all the winners and finalists should be congratulated for their achievements through these challenging times, we’re particularly proud of Queensland’s success at this year’s awards.”
