Jayco’s “Greatest Escapes” competition is making a comeback in 2024, building on its successful debut last year. The awards program celebrates underappreciated destinations that showcase Australia’s natural beauty, inspiring travelers to explore the great outdoors.

According to The Hotel Conversation, the competition features categories including Best Family Friendly Caravan Park, Best Budget-Friendly Caravan Park, Best Pet-Friendly Caravan Park, Best Caravan Park for Couples, and People’s Choice.

The 2023 campaign aims to boost local tourism by promoting Australia’s best recreational vehicle (RV) and camping destinations.

Scott Jones, Jayco national sales and marketing manager, expressed enthusiasm for the competition’s return, stating, “After the success of Jayco’s Greatest Escapes debut in 2023, Greatest Escapes is back for 2024. The competition promotes local tourism and brings well-deserved attention to many of the incredible camping and caravan parks around the country. Jayco is proudly Australian-made and proudly Australian-owned.”

Jones emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses, adding, “We understand the importance of supporting and celebrating other Australian businesses that form the backbone of our economy. We encourage caravan and camping enthusiasts, families, couples, and adventure seekers to participate in this nationwide search to help promote some of the most incredible caravan parks that we have in our own backyard.”

To cater to diverse interests and demographics, Jayco has considered various factors influencing traveler preferences. This approach ensures the competition highlights caravan parks appealing to a wide range of visitors, from families seeking kid-friendly amenities to adventure enthusiasts looking for unique outdoor experiences.

The competition provides caravan park owners and operators an opportunity to showcase their properties. The exposure gained through participation has the potential to lead to increased bookings and revenue, helping sustain and grow these businesses in regional areas. It also serves as a platform for parks to highlight their unique features and innovations.

Participants who cast their vote in the Greatest Escape search have the chance to win prizes from promotional partners such as Let’s Go Motorhomes, Ampol, Dometic, and RV Parts Express. Winners will be announced in October.

The caravan park receiving the most votes overall will be crowned the best overall caravan park in Australia and will receive $10,000 from Jayco and Gervale Homes for park improvements.

As the competition unfolds, it continues to spotlight Australia’s diverse and beautiful landscapes while supporting local businesses and communities. Jayco’s “Greatest Escapes 2024” celebrates Australian outdoor culture and the enduring appeal of caravan park holidays.
