Travelers south of the Shoalhaven River (Australia) are sure struck by the massive transformation that has taken place at the former Gateway Caravan Park.
According to a report, the new owners Jesse Xu and Nicholas Warden of Mosman Property Group settled on the property on January 21, and since then, the transformation has been shocking.
The property was once regarded as an eyesore. All but seven out of over sixty cabins and caravans on the property were removed and sold.
Five of the last seven cabins are scheduled to be relocated this week.
The long-term plan is to revamp the site by incorporating the possibility of a hotel, restaurants, cafes, and apartment accommodation to offer a more attractive entrance to Nowra.
In the meantime, as research and rezonings take place, the park will be reopened next month as a traditional caravan park.
The Nowra Riverside Tourist Park will cater to 45-60 camping caravans and tents for a short stay only.
Xu stated that among the 21 cabins located on the site, all had been purchased within the first couple of days of being put up for sale. Many were transported throughout the state, even further along on the South Coast.
“People are looking to use them for workers’ accommodation, tourist accommodation, and even just for extra family accommodation on their properties,” Xu said.
