Crusader Caravans is celebrating a significant milestone after securing the 2025 Caravan Industry Victoria (CIV) Award for Excellence in Caravan and RV Manufacturing.
According to an article by Industry Update, based in the City of Whittlesea in Melbourne’s north, the company earned top honours from the industry’s peak body, reinforcing its reputation as a standout manufacturer in a highly competitive sector.
This latest win marks the fourth time in six years that Crusader Caravans has taken home the top prize, following previous victories in 2019, 2021 and 2024.
Their consistent success has cemented the brand’s position as one of the most reliable and innovative caravan manufacturers in Australia’s strongest caravan-producing region.
Victoria continues to dominate the national industry, with 90% of all Australian caravans made in the state.
The sector contributes more than $2 billion annually to the Victorian economy and supports over 6,500 jobs, underscoring the importance of manufacturers like Crusader in the broader economic landscape.
Crusader Caravans operates from Epping, a key industrial hub within the City of Whittlesea.
Located just 20 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, the area provides easy access to crucial transport routes, including major road and rail networks, as well as proximity to both air and sea ports.
This strategic location supports efficient production, domestic distribution and export potential, making it a prime base for large-scale manufacturing operations.
“The City of Whittlesea’s manufacturing sector continues to thrive, with more than 840 businesses employing over 8,300 people, local sales of $1.57 billion and exports of $1.83 billion worth annually,” said City of Whittlesea Mayor, Councillor Lawrie Cox.
“What is made here reaches markets across Australia and around the world. With strong transport connections and access to leading education providers, and a local workforce, our municipality offers manufacturers the ideal environment to innovate and expand. It is great to see our local businesses keep winning accolades for high quality products,” Lawrie added.
This award highlights how ongoing excellence among major manufacturers strengthens the RV industry, boosts consumer confidence and supports the creation of better-designed caravans for outdoor travellers.
