Caravan Park Industry Unmoved By Rising Cost Of Living, Australians Continue Spring Trips

Recent research by the Caravan Park Association of Queensland (CPAQ) shows that 79% of Australians currently have their next caravan and camping trip planned in the next six months.

In the research, 63% of Australians are not prepared to delay or cancel trips and 94% of respondents feel comfortable staying in a caravan park.

Despite the rising cost of living expenses, most Australians (63%) are not prepared to delay or cancel trips and 94% of respondents feel comfortable staying in a caravan park.

According to Tripadvisor’s Spring Travel Index, based on a combination of Tripadvisor’s first-party search and proprietary consumer sentiment data, Australians are over the cold weather and are readying themselves for Spring vacations to the nearest sunny locations.

While the annual consumer price index climbed to 6.1%, its highest in 21 years, nearly three-quarters of Australian respondents, which is 72%, said that they are planning a Spring trip this year.

The rising cost of living in Australia has adversely affected the lives of Australians. For instance, the Malinauskas Labor Government is providing relief for South Australians battling the doubling cost of living.

They are providing up to AU$449 for their next financial year, a AU$231.80-increase, for eligible South Australians amid the surging gas prices and other everyday costs.

In a LinkedIn post by CPAQ, 56% of households see staying longer in one place as the emerging strategy to mitigate the impact of rising household expenses.

Other strategies the surveyed also said other high-ranking strategies are traveling with their own vehicle with 98%, undertaking a regional holiday with 96%, and staying in a caravan park with 94%.

“That is all good news for our sector especially now that we approach Spring and Summer, the time of the year when families get away to reconnect,” said CPAQ. “Caravan Park Association of Queensland wishes continuing success to all working in the industry!”
