CamperMate Launches New Website As Australians Look Ahead To Summer Leisure Traveling

CamperMate, Australia’s most trusted source for independent travelers, has launched a completely revamped website and marketing campaign right in time for the first summer vacation since the COVID-19 ban was lifted, according to a report by Travel Daily News.

They are happening at a point where a variety of issues like delays in passports and exchange rates, as well as the possibility of staff shortages and strikes at airports, are causing more travelers to leave on international travel and opt instead of road trips to the domestic area.

CamperMate can assist hundreds of millions of Australians and New Zealanders who are planning the road this holiday season by connecting them to tourism businesses such as holiday parks, accommodation, and other attractions, and also providing helpful advice, guides, discounts, and suggestions.

“Based on the trends we’re seeing, we’d expect this to be the best summer domestically in three years. That’s good news for tourism operators and good news for holidaymakers,” CamperMate COO Matthew Johnson said.

Johnson said that activity on the CamperMate platform was three times more than the previous year. NSW’s most well-known east coastline destinations are the North Coast and South Coast, The Sunshine Coast, Hunter Valley, and Tropical North Queensland.

“We’ve seen a steady increase in domestic travel from Easter, the first school holiday period since border restrictions were lifted. Of course, the flip side has been airline disruptions. So we think people are tending to see road travel as a more reliable option,” he said.

New website

CamperMate is best known for its indispensable travel companion app for holidaymakers and adventure seekers. The new website marks a broadening of the company’s offering to support more people in more places.

Johnson said they’re Australia’s favorite free travel planning platform. They’re also one of the best ways for people to find things to see and do on their route. Over the years, they’ve noticed an increase in people using their desktop computers to pre-plan trips.

“It made sense for us to invest in bringing a richer CamperMate experience to the web. In doing so, we’ve added additional features and personalization options. People can now search and ‘favorite’ items onto a wishlist, create a profile to receive personalized recommendations, and plan and book experiences and accommodation directly without leaving our site,” he said.

The launch of the new website coincides with the announcement of a new partnership with the domestic travel experience company Experience Oz, part of Big Red Group, to become the sole marketplace provider of booked experiences in Australia and New Zealand.

Summer Campaign

CamperMate’s summer campaign for marketing starts this month. The campaign, titled Take Back Summer, will have the company advertising across digital and printed media and social media platforms. It will be their largest in the past three years.

“Australia is an amazing place to travel. No matter where you are, there are incredible things to see and do only a drive away. Our campaign is designed to showcase those experiences and encourage more people to get out and experience the beauty of Australia and New Zealand, whether that be a local weekend getaway or an interstate road trip and beyond,” Johnson said.
