Anglesea Family Caravan Park, located on the Surf Coast, has been nominated for the prestigious title of Australia’s Best Pet-Friendly Caravan Park in the annual Jayco Greatest Escapes Awards. This recognition highlights the park’s dedication to creating a welcoming environment for guests traveling with their pets, a significant draw for dog owners among the millions of visitors who explore the Great Ocean Road each year.
The nomination, initiated by Jayco, places Anglesea Family Caravan Park among the top contenders nationwide for its pet-friendly amenities. Operated by the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA), the park has made a name for itself by ensuring that even four-legged visitors have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The park’s dog-friendly features include allocated cabins with fully fenced areas and campsites designed to accommodate pets.
According to an article published by Times News Group, Andy Mathers, GORCAPA’s director of community, corporate affairs, and visitor economy, expressed pride in the park’s nomination, stating, “We’re honored to be recognized for our efforts to ensure every guest, even our four-legged ones, feel comfortable and valued at our parks.”
The park’s pet-friendly accommodations are available seasonally, with designated areas that allow dogs. Visitors can also enjoy off-leash walks on the beach west of Point Roadknight or at the Anglesea Recreation Reserve, adding to the park’s appeal for pet owners looking for a complete holiday experience.
Jayco’s annual Greatest Escapes Awards aim to spotlight premier caravan and camping destinations across Australia, encouraging more Australians to embrace the outdoors. The recognition of Anglesea Family Caravan Park underscores the growing importance of pet-friendly facilities in the outdoor hospitality industry.
Mathers emphasized the park’s philosophy, saying, “We believe that every member of the family, including our furry friends, deserves a memorable and enjoyable holiday.”
The winning park will receive a cash prize to further enhance its facilities and services, with the award ceremony scheduled for October 31.
