Antalya Prepares to Launch New Beachfront Caravan Park for 2025 Travel Season

The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality is nearing completion of a new caravan park in the Lara Beaches region, a project intended to strengthen caravan tourism and address demand in the area.

The new facility, developed by the municipality, is expected to be operational for the upcoming travel season. Construction began in October 2024 and is now in its final stages, with infrastructure and landscaping work close to completion.

Once finished, the caravan park will accommodate up to 120 caravans and is designed with features aimed at enhancing comfort and safety for visitors.

Located on a 12,000-square-meter beachfront plot, the site will include a 360-square-meter green space, a market, laundry facilities, a dining hall, shower areas, two toilets, a cafeteria, playgrounds, a generator, and wastewater discharge points.

A remotely monitored marina panel for electricity and clean water, usable by two caravans simultaneously, is among the technical amenities intended to support uninterrupted stays.

The initiative follows the success of the Konyaaltı Caravan Park, also developed by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality.

According to a report by Railly News, the earlier site has been well-received by caravan travelers and has become a reference point within the caravan tourism community.

By expanding similar infrastructure to Lara, the municipality aims to alleviate longstanding challenges faced by travelers in finding secure and equipped parking spaces along the coast.

In a notable cultural decision, the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Council voted unanimously in April 2025 to name the new park in honor of Volkan Konak, a well-known figure in Black Sea and Turkish folk music who passed away in recent months.

For outdoor hospitality business owners, the Lara Caravan Park represents a case study in municipal investment supporting regional tourism through targeted infrastructure development.

The project demonstrates how local governments can play an active role in fostering the caravan and RV travel segments by delivering practical amenities and responding to tourism patterns.

As consumer interest in self-contained, road-based travel remains high, facilities like this could become models for public-private partnerships or inform future campground expansions in similar tourist regions.
