Entrepreneurs in LPR Gain Subsidies for Campsite and Recreation Development

For the first time, ten entrepreneurs in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) have received government subsidies totaling more than 113 million rubles to support the development of tourism infrastructure.

The announcement was made by Anna Ugolkova, Minister of Economic Development of the Republic.

“Ten entrepreneurs have already received subsidies for the implementation of their projects. The total amount of support amounted to more than 113 million rubles,” Ugolkova said.

According to the ministry, the funding will support a range of tourism and hospitality projects across the region. These include improvements to Zeleny Hai Beach in the Antratsyt district and the Cote d’Azur Beach in Bobrovo near Severodonetsk.

Other projects include the modernization of the Grival recreation center in Stanytsia Luganskaya, the construction of a year-round swimming pool at the Domino Hotel in Lugansk, and a new pool at the Astakhovskaya Dolina recreation center in the Sverdlovsk district.

Additional developments are planned at the Zemlyanika year-round campsite in the Stanychno-Lugansk forest hunting area, the Villa-San Giovanni campsite in the Luxurious village, Lugansk Camping on the Mius River in Krasny Luch, Lesnoy Ostrov camping in the Antratsytovsky district, and Peace and Quiet camping in Bulavinovka, Novopskov district.

According to Lugansk Information Center, applications for these subsidies opened on July 1 as part of a regional competition to fund projects aimed at strengthening local tourism infrastructure.

Ugolkova explained that the initiative represents “a subsidy that is brought as a support measure as part of the implementation of the national project ‘Tourism and Hospitality’ and the federal project ‘Creation of rooms, infrastructure and new points of attraction.’”

For professionals in the outdoor hospitality and camping sectors, this funding effort highlights growing public investment in small-scale tourism infrastructure and hospitality diversification in developing regions.

Initiatives like these can stimulate local economies, increase visitor capacity, and provide examples of how coordinated government support can help independent operators enhance facilities, extend seasonal operations, and attract new visitor segments.
