The Odisha Tourism Department has inaugurated the Konark Eco Retreat for the 2025-26 season, offering glamping accommodations along Chandrabhaga beach in Puri district.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presided over the inauguration ceremony, which was attended by Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida, local MLAs, and senior government officials.
The eco retreat features 70 luxury tent houses and facilities similar to five-star hotels, including dining and overnight accommodations. This year’s arrangements include 30 deluxe cottages, 20 premium cottages, 12 royal cottages, and eight presidential villas.
Pricing for stays ranges from Rs 5,400 to Rs 9,000 per night for a deluxe cottage, Rs 7,000 to Rs 16,000 for a premium cottage, Rs 10,000 to Rs 16,000 for a royal cottage, and Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 for a presidential villa.
Visitors at Konark Eco Retreat can access watersports, parasailing, cycling, beach volleyball, yoga, two bars, beach shacks, and conference hall facilities. The retreat is scheduled to operate until March 12, 2026. Tourists can reserve accommodations via the official booking portal bookodisha.com or by contacting 0674-262330.
Earlier in November, the Odisha Tourism Department launched eco retreat facilities at six additional locations across the state, including Bhitarkanika in Kendrapara, Satkosia in Angul, Hirakud in Sambalpur, Daringbadi in Kandhamal, Sonapur in Ganjam, and Putsil in Koraput.
According to Sambad English, these launches were conducted virtually by Parida during the ‘Odisha Parab’ event in Bengaluru on November 15.
“Eco Retreat Odisha offers a truly unforgettable experience, from serene natural landscapes and premium glamping stays to rich cultural trails and authentic local cuisines. Come, explore the magic of Odisha, where every destination tells a new story of beauty,” Parida said.
For professionals in the outdoor hospitality and glamping sector, the Konark Eco Retreat provides a model of integrating premium tent-based accommodations with cultural tourism and activity-driven experiences, demonstrating how glamping operations can diversify offerings while leveraging local attractions.
