137th Canton Fair Spotlights Outdoor Gear Tailored to North American and European Glamping Trends

The 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), held in April 2025, has underscored its role as a strategic sourcing platform for international buyers seeking to align with changing consumer preferences, including the continued rise of glamping in markets such as North America and Europe.

As demand grows for upscale outdoor accommodations and amenities, the fair’s exhibitors are offering a broad range of products aimed at enhancing the guest experience in outdoor settings.

Participating companies showcased a wide array of solutions that could be of interest to operators in the glamping and outdoor hospitality sectors, particularly those looking to diversify offerings or upgrade existing infrastructure.

Guangdong ICECO Enterprise Co., Ltd., a recurring exhibitor at the fair, presented its latest series of portable fridges and freezers designed for outdoor use.

“These metal classics freezers reflect both durability and refined aesthetics,” said Rain Xie, director of the product department at ICECO, in a press release

The dual-zone models are positioned to meet the operational demands of glamping providers seeking to add convenient, energy-efficient food storage options to their accommodations.

The company’s continued involvement in the Canton Fair reflects the event’s utility as a business development channel, providing access to a broad network of buyers and suppliers.

ICECO is among many manufacturers that plan to take part in Phase 3 of the fair, which focuses on sports and tourism leisure products.

This upcoming segment, scheduled for late April, may be particularly relevant for business owners sourcing gear and furnishings that align with experiential travel trends.

Another exhibitor, Zhejiang Sorbo Technology Co., Ltd., displayed a range of outdoor electronics suited to glamping environments.

Their multifunctional lanterns and insect-repellent devices address a core concern for operators: enhancing comfort while reducing environmental disruptions.

Products like Sorbo’s rechargeable fly fan with integrated lamp repellent or their lantern that doubles as a charger and mosquito repellent are indicative of how manufacturers are responding to consumer interest in low-maintenance, tech-enabled comfort during outdoor stays.

For glamping site operators, RV park owners, and other outdoor hospitality providers, the Canton Fair continues to serve as a barometer for product innovation and a practical resource for supplier relationships.

The fair’s sheer scale and supplier diversity offer unique opportunities to source durable, scalable, and guest-focused equipment that can differentiate an outdoor hospitality business in a competitive market.

As the industry adapts to evolving guest expectations, especially those influenced by the blending of luxury and nature, events like the Canton Fair may play an increasing role in strategic procurement planning.

Operators who integrate insights from global trade fairs into their purchasing decisions may find themselves better positioned to anticipate market trends and deliver elevated guest experiences.
