Choice Hotels Expands Into RV Travel With Harvest Hosts Acquisition

Choice Hotels International has agreed to acquire Harvest Hosts in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $130 million, bringing the RV travel membership company and its network of more than 11,200 host locations into Choice Hotels’ portfolio.

Choice Hotels is acquiring 100% of Harvest Hosts from Stripes and other shareholders. The transaction is expected to expand Choice’s reach into outdoor and RV travel while connecting Harvest Hosts’ membership network with Choice Privileges, the company’s loyalty program.

Harvest Hosts connects RV travelers with overnight stays at wineries, farms, breweries, museums and other attractions. The company also operates Escapees RV Club, Boondockers Welcome, CampScanner and Brit Stops.

According to a press release, Choice Hotels President and CEO Dom Dragisich said the acquisition extends the company’s focus on value-minded travelers into the outdoor travel market.

“Choice Hotels has a long history of delivering quality travel experiences for value-minded consumers, and our acquisition of Harvest Hosts extends that reach into an attractive segment of the outdoor travel market,” Dragisich said. “Together we offer even more stay options for both of our companies’ guests.”

Choice said research indicates Choice Privileges members over-index among RV travelers, creating an opportunity to connect the loyalty program’s membership base with Harvest Hosts’ network.

Harvest Hosts will continue operating as a standalone business under its existing brand following the transaction. Joel Holland will remain CEO, alongside the company’s existing leadership team, while the full Harvest Hosts team will become Choice Hotels employees upon closing.

“The heart and soul of Harvest Hosts is the unique connections we have built between our members, hosts and employees,” Holland said. “We share a love of the open road and the communities that make every journey memorable.”

The acquisition will be funded with cash on hand and borrowings under Choice Hotels’ existing revolving credit facility. Choice said the transaction is not expected to have a material impact on its 2026 financial results and will not change its previously communicated 2026 share repurchase expectations.

Stripes invested in Harvest Hosts in 2021, partnering with Holland and the management team to expand the company’s membership experience and reach across the RV community.

Choice Hotels operates more than 7,500 hotels representing more than 650,000 rooms across 49 countries and territories. Its portfolio includes 22 brands spanning full-service upper upscale, midscale, extended stay and economy properties.
