Wild Atlantic Glamping on Bere Island in West Cork, Ireland, has introduced new glamping pods that will accommodate guests year-round, alongside the launch of a new food-focused weekend scheduled for October 2–4, 2026.
The property’s first Gourmet Glamping Weekend is designed around local food, cooking workshops and island-based experiences. Chef Tanya Ranalow will lead the culinary programming throughout the weekend, with activities focused on seasonal ingredients and techniques that guests can apply beyond their stay.
The program begins Friday evening with a sharing-board workshop. Ranalow will demonstrate how to assemble a West Cork sharing board using seasonal local ingredients, after which guests will create their own boards for dinner. Participants will also be able to take their completed platters home.
On Saturday, the schedule includes a flavor-focused cooking masterclass featuring demonstrations of what the organizers describe as “flavour makers,” including homemade pickles, dressings, dips and toppings. The session is intended to show how relatively simple preparations can be used to add flavor to everyday meals.
The weekend’s main dining event is a Saturday evening Indian autumn feast. The family-style meal will feature meat and vegetarian curries, sides and spices, bringing the food program together with an event intended to involve the island community.
Accommodation, meals, workshops and the weekend’s experiences are included in the advertised price of €495 per person, based on shared accommodation. The newly introduced pods overlook the West Cork landscape and form the accommodation component of the year-round offering, according to YayCork.
For outdoor hospitality operators, the launch illustrates one approach to extending the use of glamping accommodation beyond traditional peak-season demand. Pairing accommodation with a defined culinary program also gives operators an opportunity to package lodging with activities and dining rather than relying solely on room or pitch revenue. In destinations where seasonal occupancy is a challenge, event-based stays can provide a mechanism for creating demand around specific dates while incorporating local suppliers, producers and community experiences.
