Streamside RV Resorts and Campgrounds has completed the court-approved acquisition of Sandy Pines Campground in Kennebunkport, Maine, adding the coastal property to its growing portfolio of outdoor hospitality businesses.
The company announced the acquisition Wednesday, August 12, and said it represents its 40th acquisition across 17 states since Streamside was formed in 2023. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Sandy Pines has been operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings after narrowly avoiding a foreclosure sale in March 2026. The acquisition provides a new ownership structure for the property as it continues serving guests in one of Maine’s established coastal tourism markets.
“Our team has admired this property for some time, given the immense charm and draw of the Kennebunkport area,” Jen Milam, chief growth officer at Streamside RV Resorts and Campgrounds, told Bangor Daily News.
“Sandy Pines is a beautifully done resort in a fantastic location, and has become one of the premiere camping resorts in Maine. We are dedicated to preserving its deep ties to the local community, honoring its unique coastal character, and ensuring it remains a premier Northeast outdoor destination for generations to come.”
Sandy Pines includes 83 RV sites, 46 tent sites and 66 glamping sites, giving the property a mix of traditional camping and higher-amenity accommodations. Its other facilities include a lodge, general store and snack bar, heated saltwater pool, bathhouses, playground and laundry facilities.
Atlantic Hospitality, which has operated the campground, will continue managing the property through the end of the 2026 season. The arrangement provides operational continuity during the transition to Streamside ownership.

“From the beginning, our goal was to create a place that celebrated the spirit of coastal Maine and fostered lasting memories for generations of guests. We are confident that Streamside shares those values and will continue to build on the strong foundation that our team has established.”
For outdoor hospitality operators, the transaction illustrates how established campground assets with diversified accommodation offerings can remain attractive acquisition targets even when a property is experiencing financial distress.
Sandy Pines’ combination of RV, tent and glamping inventory also gives its new owner several guest segments to serve, while the continued involvement of Atlantic Hospitality through the 2026 season may help reduce disruption during the ownership transition.
The acquisition also expands Streamside’s presence in the Northeast and brings its portfolio to 40 acquisitions in less than four years, highlighting the continued role of consolidation in the private campground and outdoor hospitality sector.
